Zak & Becky
TO DEAREST BIRTH FAMILY
I wish we had a roadmap for these types of conversations. Because we cannot possibly understand what you are going through, it is tough to find the right words. We hope to know more about you soon and develop a bond. The first step of a journey is usually the hardest and we don’t know exactly where to begin.
Thank you for blessing us by taking the time to read this and look at our home and family. We are so curious about you, and I have so many questions to ask. What are your hopes and dreams? What makes you the happiest? What is your favorite book/movie/animal? What do you look for in a friend? We cannot wait to get acquainted and would cherish an opportunity to meet you in person.
Zak and I were brought together by our desire to help others and make the world a better place. Over the last nine years we have built a beautiful home where love grows. We would absolutely love for you to see it, if not in person than in the pictures we have placed into this album. Ours is a house filled with laughter and peace. Typical nights and weekends are spent playing with our pets, working on home improvement projects, and building our garden. We have already created an outer space-themed nursery for a baby, and would love to show you pictures.
One of the most meaningful moments of my life was when I met my biological family at 35 years old. To that end, it is so important to us that we develop a lifelong relationship with our child’s birth family. We want to make sure that we visit with you at least once a year if you are comfortable with that. We want the child’s middle name to be your family name—again, if we have your blessing to do that. Although it seems like the phrase is overused, the old saying that “it takes a village to raise a child” is one in which we firmly believe. No matter where you live, we want you to be part of our extended family for the rest of our lives.
We honor you for your bravery, and deeply respect the issues before you. We understand you have the most challenging decisions to make and the most difficult times ahead. While it is tough to show our hearts on a page, we pray you know how much we admire you and how much love, wisdom, health, adventure, and care we can give to your baby.
